South Korea Visa for UAE Residents — Overview
South Korea has one of the most sophisticated and rapidly expanding visa-free frameworks in Asia. UAE passport holders are visa-free for 90 days. Indian passport holders with a valid Schengen, USA, UK, Australian, Canadian, or New Zealand visa are eligible for visa-free entry to South Korea for up to 30 days under the K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization) or through the visa-free facility for Schengen/US/UK visa holders — confirming current eligibility is essential as Korea's policies have changed multiple times. Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Egyptian, and Sri Lankan nationals require a South Korean visa and must apply through the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Abu Dhabi. There is no Korean VFS Global in UAE — all applications are submitted directly at the Korean Embassy in Abu Dhabi or the Korean Consulate in Dubai.
Who Needs a South Korea Visa from UAE?
UAE nationals are visa-free for 90 days. Indian nationals holding a valid US, UK, Schengen, Australian, Canadian, or New Zealand visa of any type (not expired) may enter South Korea visa-free for up to 30 days — they must also register for K-ETA (Korean Electronic Travel Authorization at k-eta.go.kr, fee KRW 10,000 approximately AED 28) at least 72 hours before departure. Filipino nationals are visa-free for 30 days. K-ETA — Korea Electronic Travel Authorization
K-ETA is South Korea's pre-travel electronic authorization system — similar to the USA's ESTA. It applies to visa-free eligible nationalities including Indian nationals holding qualifying supporting visas. D-4 General Training / Language Visa

South Korean visa applications are submitted directly at the Embassy of Korea in Abu Dhabi or the Korean Consulate General in Dubai. There is no VFS Global for Korea. All documents must be in English or Korean. Arabic documents require certified English translation.

Salary certificate on company letterhead — issued within 30 days, specifying monthly salary in AED, job title, company name and contact details, and employment start date. Last 3 months' UAE bank statements with minimum AED 12,000 closing balance for a 10-day Korea trip. NOC from employer confirming leave approval for the travel period. UAE employment contract copy (labour card or MOHRE contract) if available.
(c) Self-Employed / Business Owners
Valid UAE trade licence — with certified English translation if issued in Arabic only. Last 3 months' business bank statements with minimum AED 18,000 closing balance. Personal cover letter explaining visit purpose and itinerary. Company registration certificate or MOA. If visiting a Korean business partner, an invitation letter from the Korean company on official letterhead with their Korean business registration number is highly recommended.
(d) Dependents / Housewives
Sponsor's full documents: passport copy, Emirates ID, UAE residence visa, salary certificate on company letterhead, and 3 months' bank statements with minimum AED 15,000 closing balance. Notarised financial sponsorship letter confirming full responsibility for the applicant's trip costs. Marriage certificate with certified English translation. The dependent's own Emirates ID and UAE residence visa copies.
(e) Students
Current enrolment certificate from UAE school or university on official letterhead, confirming student status and expected graduation/end date. Student ID card. Bank statements from student or parent account with minimum AED 10,000 closing balance. If parent-sponsored: full parent sponsorship letter with their employment certificate and last 3 months' bank statements. For D-4 language visa applications: acceptance letter from the Korean language institute with proof of its registration with the Korean Ministry of Education.

For a 7-day Seoul trip: minimum AED 12,000 closing balance for a solo traveller; AED 20,000 for a couple.
