How the Score is Calculated
Brazil Visa Approval Assessment Methodology
Our calculator analyzes 8 key factors that directly influence Brazil embassy decisions. The database covers 82+ nationalities, each with an individual approval coefficient based on published visa statistics. Brazil difficulty rating: Easy (2/5). Each factor carries an individual weight that reflects real-world consulate decision-making patterns.
How the Weighted Scoring System Works
Each factor is scored from 0 to 100 points based on your answer. That score is then multiplied by the factor's weight (importance percentage). Your final score is the sum of all weighted scores, adjusted for the country's difficulty level.
The 8 Factors Explained
Country Difficulty Adjustment
The final score is adjusted by Brazil's strictness level (2/5). Countries with high strictness (4–5) apply an additional deduction to the final score, as their consulates impose stricter documentation and evidence requirements. Countries with low strictness (1–2) apply no additional deduction.
Result Categories
Important: The calculator is based on published visa statistics and expert experience from processing thousands of applications from the UAE. It does not guarantee an outcome — the final decision always rests with the consular officer. Use the result as a guide for preparing your documentation.

Brazil Visa for UAE Residents — 2025 Visa-Free Expansion Overview
Brazil made headlines in 2024–2025 by dramatically expanding its visa-free programme. As of mid-2024, citizens of the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia enjoy 90-day visa-free access — reversing years of reciprocal visa requirements. UAE nationals (Emirati passports) have been visa-free to Brazil since 2023.
For Indian, Pakistani, Filipino, Egyptian, Bangladeshi, Chinese, and most South Asian, African, and Middle Eastern passport holders, a Brazilian visa is still required. Applications are submitted directly at the Brazilian Consulate General in Dubai — unlike most other destinations, Brazil does NOT use VFS Global or BLS in the UAE.
Nationalities Visa-Free for Brazil (90 Days)
UAE nationals (Emirati passports): 90 days. US, UK, Canadian, Australian passport holders: 90 days (restored 2024). EU/Schengen nationals: 90 days. South Korean, Japanese, New Zealand, Israeli citizens: visa-free. Check Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (itamaraty.gov.br) for the current full list — the policy expanded significantly in 2024–2025.
Nationalities That Require a Brazil Visa from UAE
Indian, Pakistani, Filipino, Bangladeshi, Egyptian, Nepalese, Sri Lankan, most African nationalities, Iranian, Lebanese, and many Middle Eastern passport holders. If you are an Indian-passport resident of UAE applying for a Brazil visa, you apply at the Brazilian Consulate General in Dubai (World Trade Centre area). Processing takes 5–7 business days.
Brazilian Consulate vs. VFS Global — Critical Difference
Brazil is one of the few major destinations where UAE residents submit directly to the Consulate General rather than a visa application centre. There is NO VFS Global, BLS, or TLScontact for Brazil in the UAE. Appointments are booked through the Brazilian Consulate's siscons online system. This makes Brazil unique in the UAE visa landscape — and means Oki Doki's guidance on the process is especially valuable.
Brazil Visa Types Available from UAE
Brazil offers several visa categories. Most UAE residents applying for tourism fall under the VIVIS (tourist) visa, but understanding all options is important.
Tourist Visa — VIVIS (Most Common)
Single or multiple entry. Allows 90 days per stay, up to 180 days per year. Valid for tourism, visiting friends/family, cultural activities. NOT valid for paid work. Multiple-entry tourist visas (valid 1–2 years) are typically issued to frequent travellers or those with prior Brazil visits.
e-Visa for Eligible Nationalities
Brazil introduced an e-Visa (online visa) for a limited list of nationalities. Apply at evisa.itamaraty.gov.br. Processing: 3–5 business days. Where available, the e-Visa is faster and more convenient than the consulate appointment process. Check current eligibility at the official Brazilian e-Visa portal — the list was expanding in 2025.
Business Visa — VITEM II
For business meetings, conferences, market research, training. NOT for taking up employment. Requires a business invitation letter from a Brazilian company. Single or multiple entry. Processing same as tourist: 5–7 business days at Dubai Consulate.
Transit Visa — VIVIS VI
Required for nationalities transiting through Brazilian airports who do not hold a Brazil visa. Most UAE residents transiting GRU (São Paulo Guarulhos) or GIG (Rio Galeão) without entering Brazil fall under specific airline/transit rules — check with your airline as requirements depend on nationality and transit duration.
Brazilian Consulate General Dubai — Appointment and Submission
The Brazilian Consulate General in Dubai is located in the World Trade Centre area. Unlike embassies in Abu Dhabi, this Consulate serves all UAE residents regardless of emirate. Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and other emirate residents also submit at the Dubai Consulate.
Appointments are MANDATORY — walk-ins are not accepted. Book through the official siscons system at siscons.itamaraty.gov.br.
Appointment Booking Process
Step 1: Go to siscons.itamaraty.gov.br. Step 2: Register and create an account. Step 3: Select Dubai consulate and choose appointment type. Step 4: Upload required pre-appointment documents. Step 5: Select date and time. Typical wait for appointment: 1–3 weeks. In peak summer/school holiday periods, wait can extend to 4–6 weeks — plan well ahead.
Consulate Hours and Contact
Brazilian Consulate General Dubai: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (consular services). Passport collection: separate hours (check official schedule). Emergency consular services: available for Brazilian nationals. Contact through official Brazilian government portal — direct phone access is limited; use the online booking system.
Brazil Visa Document Requirements — Complete Checklist
Documents must be in Portuguese, English, or Spanish. Other languages require certified translation. All documents should be current (within 3 months unless otherwise noted).
Core Documents — All Applicants

Hotel/accommodation bookings for full stay. Bank statements — 3–6 months. Cover letter stating purpose of visit, itinerary, accommodation details, and UAE ties.

Last 3 months salary certificates or payslips. 3–6 months personal bank statements showing salary credits. Employment contract (if recently started).
Business Owners / Self-Employed
Valid UAE trade license (3+ months validity). 6 months company bank statements. 6 months personal bank statements. Business letter on company letterhead explaining purpose and ongoing UAE operations. If business invitation from Brazil: Brazilian company invitation on their letterhead, signed and stamped.

Attested birth certificate (for children). Family book or relationship proof. Students: enrollment letter from UAE university/school + parent letter of consent.
Yellow Fever Certificate — Critical Health Requirement for Brazil
Yellow fever vaccination is MANDATORY for travel to certain regions of Brazil, and the Consulate may require proof even before issuing the visa for certain itineraries. Brazil has vast areas where yellow fever is endemic — including the Amazon region, Pantanal, Bonito, Iguaçu Falls (Brazilian side), Paraty, and parts of Minas Gerais.
If your itinerary includes ANY of these areas — even just passing through — you MUST present a valid International Certificate of Vaccination (yellow card, ICV) at immigration. Failure to show vaccination proof can result in mandatory vaccination at the airport or entry refusal.
When Is Yellow Fever Vaccine Required?
Required for entry if you are arriving from or have visited any country with yellow fever risk within the past 30 days. Required within Brazil if visiting: Amazon states (Amazonas, Pará, Amapá, Roraima, Acre, Rondônia), Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Goiás, Minas Gerais (rural), Bahia (some areas), Iguaçu Falls. Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Florianópolis coastal areas are generally considered low-risk — but this changes based on outbreak reports.
Getting Vaccinated in the UAE
Yellow fever vaccines are available at major UAE travel clinics and hospitals: Dubai Vaccination Centre (DHA), Abu Dhabi vaccination centres, and several private hospitals. Cost: AED 150–300. The vaccine provides lifetime immunity (WHO updated to single-dose lifelong protection in 2016). Allow 10 days minimum before travel for full immunity. Bring the yellow card to Brazil and keep it with your passport throughout your trip.
Financial Requirements for Brazil Visa
Brazil has no officially published minimum financial requirement, but the Consulate evaluates your ability to fund the trip. Brazil is a mid-range travel destination: cheaper than Western Europe but more expensive than Southeast Asia.
Recommended Financial Evidence
Solo traveller (10 days, Rio + São Paulo): budget AED 8,000–15,000. Including Amazon/Pantanal adventure: AED 15,000–25,000. Recommended closing bank balance: AED 12,000–20,000 for solo, AED 25,000–40,000 for families. The Consulate checks consistency of income, not just the closing balance — sudden large deposits before application are a red flag.
Daily Costs in Brazil (2026)
Budget travel: AED 250–400/day (hostels, street food, buses). Mid-range: AED 500–800/day (3-star hotel, casual restaurants, Uber). Comfortable: AED 1,000–1,600/day (4-star hotels, restaurant dining). Key costs: Rio hotel 3-star: AED 350–600/night. Restaurant meal: AED 80–160. Domestic flight (São Paulo to Manaus): AED 300–600. Direct flights Dubai–São Paulo: ~15 hours (no direct flights — via London, Paris, Doha, or Lisbon).
Brazil Visa Fees and Processing Time — 2026
Brazil visa fees are set by reciprocal agreements and vary by nationality. Unlike Schengen's flat €90, Brazil uses nationality-based fee structures.
Current Fee Structure
India, Pakistan, Philippines, Bangladesh: BRL equivalent (check current rate at Dubai Consulate — approximately USD 40–80/AED 150–300). Some nationalities: fees set by reciprocity. Processing: 5–7 business days from submission date. Rush processing: not generally available for tourist visas.
Timeline Planning
Book Consulate appointment 3–5 weeks before travel. Allow 1–3 weeks for appointment slot availability. Visa processing: 5–7 business days after appointment. Total timeline needed: 4–8 weeks before departure. Peak season (December–February for Carnival planning): apply 6–10 weeks ahead — appointment slots fill extremely fast for Carnival season (February/March).
Common Reasons for Brazil Visa Rejection
Understanding rejection patterns helps you build a stronger application. The Brazilian Consulate is generally more lenient than US or UK, but specific issues repeatedly cause problems.
Most Frequent Rejection Triggers
Weak cover letter (vague "tourism" without itinerary). Missing hotel bookings or gaps in accommodation. Low or inconsistent bank balance. Recent UAE residence visa (less than 6 months old). Unclear purpose of visit for high-risk nationalities. Previous Brazil visa rejection. Inconsistency between stated purpose and documents provided. No return flight booking or one-way ticket only.
How to Maximise Approval Chances
Write a detailed cover letter with day-by-day itinerary mentioning specific hotels and attractions. Book refundable hotels and flights. Maintain 3–6 months of consistent bank balance. If visiting friends/family in Brazil: include their Brazilian address and contact details. If first-time applicant: attach copies of previous international travel visas (US, Schengen, UK). A clean travel history is a major asset for Brazil visa approval.

Best Time to Visit Brazil from UAE
Brazil is a vast country — the size of continental Europe — and different regions have vastly different weather patterns. Timing your trip correctly makes the difference between an extraordinary experience and a washout.
Rio de Janeiro and Southeast Brazil
Best season: April–October (the dry season — clear skies, manageable temperatures of 20–28°C). Carnival season: February/March — spectacular but chaotic, very expensive, requires booking 6–12 months ahead. Summer (November–March): very hot (35°C+), heavy rain, but beach season at its peak. New Year's Eve in Rio (Reveillon): one of the world's largest celebrations on Copacabana beach — plan 6+ months ahead.
Amazon Basin
Best for wildlife/boat tours: June–November (dry season — water levels drop, animals concentrate around remaining water sources, easier wildlife spotting). Wet season (December–May): some areas flooded, river levels rise dramatically — different but beautiful experience. Avoid: December–January unless you enjoy rain. Amazon weather is hot (28–35°C) year-round with very high humidity regardless of season.
Northeast Brazil and Beaches
Fortaleza, Natal, Maceió, Salvador: September–March is the best season (dry, sunny, northeast trade winds). Bonito (world-class snorkelling in crystal rivers): June–October best for visibility. Iguaçu Falls: best viewed year-round; highest volume (most dramatic) November–March after rains; clearest views June–October. Direct flights from Dubai to Brazil: no non-stop options — all flights connect in Europe, Doha, or Casablanca. Total travel time: 20–25 hours.
Top Brazil Destinations for UAE Travellers
Brazil is the world's fifth-largest country and the most visited in South America — with extraordinary natural and cultural diversity for every type of traveller.
Rio de Janeiro — The Marvellous City
Christ the Redeemer (Corcovado, 709m): one of the New Seven Wonders of the World — the icon of Brazil. Access by cog train or van. Sugarloaf Mountain (Pão de Açúcar): cable car with incomparable Guanabara Bay views. Copacabana and Ipanema beaches: the most famous urban beaches on earth. Carnival (February/March): the world's largest party — UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. Favela tours: with registered operators in Santa Marta or Vidigal — cultural, not voyeuristic. Lapa: the nightlife district with colonial aqueduct (Arcos da Lapa). Maracanã: legendary football stadium — catch a game if possible.
Amazon Rainforest — The World's Lungs
Manaus: gateway to the Amazon — the jungle opera house (Teatro Amazonas) is Brazil's most surprising building. Meeting of the Waters: Rio Negro and Solimões flow side-by-side for 6km without mixing — visually stunning boat tour. Amazon River lodges: from budget to luxury eco-lodges with night walks, piranha fishing, pink river dolphin spotting. Jungle trips: 3-night minimum recommended for the full experience.
Iguaçu Falls and the Pantanal
Iguaçu Falls: 275 waterfalls wider than Niagara, on the Argentina-Brazil border (UNESCO World Heritage). Visit BOTH the Brazilian side (panoramic view) and the Argentine side (walk into the spray) — combine with Argentina trip. Pantanal: world's largest tropical wetland — best wildlife spotting on Earth (more accessible than Amazon). Capybaras, caimans, anacondas, and 700 species of birds. Best season: May–September. Bonito: underground crystal rivers for world-class snorkelling in clear blue water.
São Paulo and Cultural Brazil
São Paulo: the largest city in the Southern Hemisphere and Brazil's economic capital. MASP (São Paulo Museum of Art): the most important art collection in Latin America. Liberdade district: the largest Japanese community outside Japan. Street art in Vila Madalena. Ibirapuera Park. Santa Catarina (Florianópolis): beautiful island with lagoons, surfing, and Germanic architecture. Salvador: Afro-Brazilian capital with UNESCO Pelourinho historic centre. Olinda (Pernambuco): charming colonial town with famous pre-Carnival blocos.
Brazil Travel Budget for UAE Residents — 2026
Brazil offers exceptional value for UAE residents at mid-range and luxury levels — particularly compared to European destinations.
Daily Budget Estimates
Budget backpacker: AED 250–400/day (hostels AED 80–150, street food AED 50–100, local buses). Mid-range traveller: AED 600–900/day (3-star hotel AED 350–600, restaurants AED 120–200, Uber, day tours). Comfortable: AED 1,200–2,000/day (4-star hotels, upscale restaurants, private transfers). Amazon lodge (all-inclusive): AED 700–2,000/day depending on lodge level. 10-day Rio + Iguaçu Falls trip: AED 12,000–22,000 all-inclusive from UAE (flights ~AED 3,000–5,000).
Currency and Money Tips
Currency: Brazilian Real (BRL). 1 AED ≈ 1.5 BRL (2026 approximate). Cash is still widely used outside major cities. Use international debit/credit cards in São Paulo and Rio. Avoid money changers on the street — use official exchanges or bank ATMs. USD is sometimes accepted in tourist areas but at unfavourable rates. Always have some BRL cash for local transport, smaller restaurants, and market shopping.
