How the Score is Calculated
Ireland Visa Approval Assessment Methodology
Our calculator analyzes 8 key factors that directly influence Ireland embassy decisions. The database covers 82+ nationalities, each with an individual approval coefficient based on published visa statistics. Ireland difficulty rating: Strict (4/5). Each factor carries an individual weight that reflects real-world consulate decision-making patterns.
How the Weighted Scoring System Works
Each factor is scored from 0 to 100 points based on your answer. That score is then multiplied by the factor's weight (importance percentage). Your final score is the sum of all weighted scores, adjusted for the country's difficulty level.
The 8 Factors Explained
Country Difficulty Adjustment
The final score is adjusted by Ireland's strictness level (4/5). Countries with high strictness (4–5) apply an additional deduction to the final score, as their consulates impose stricter documentation and evidence requirements. Countries with low strictness (1–2) apply no additional deduction.
Result Categories
Important: The calculator is based on published visa statistics and expert experience from processing thousands of applications from the UAE. It does not guarantee an outcome — the final decision always rests with the consular officer. Use the result as a guide for preparing your documentation.

Ireland Bank Balance Calculator
How much money do you need in your bank account for a visa?
How Bank Balance is Calculated
Ireland Visa Bank Balance Requirements
The calculator uses a dual-tier system: the official paper minimum and the expert recommendation. The paper minimum is the embassy's formal requirement. The expert recommendation is the amount at which your application won't trigger additional scrutiny.
The Dual-Tier System
Official rate: €65/day. This is the minimum amount stated in the embassy's formal requirements. Formula: trip days × daily rate.
The real amount that ensures approval: ~5× above the paper minimum. Based on analysis of thousands of successful applications from the UAE. At this level, the embassy doesn't raise additional financial questions.
How the Calculation Works
The calculator computes the required balance based on 3 parameters:
- Number of trip days — determines the total minimum
- Number of travelers — multiplier for family applications
- Accommodation type — pre-booked hotel reduces the balance requirement, as accommodation costs are already covered
What Embassies Check in Your Bank Statement
When to Start Preparing Your Bank Account
What to Do if Your Balance is Low
- →Attach a credit card statement showing a high available limit
- →Add an employer sponsorship letter confirming your salary and position
- →Consider reducing trip duration to lower the requirement
- →Include a fixed deposit or savings certificate as supplementary proof
Important: Financial requirements may vary depending on the specific consulate and visa type. The rates shown are based on current official data and expert experience. We recommend targeting the expert tier for maximum approval chances.

Services: Free Case Review, Strengthened Application
- Is Ireland part of the Schengen area for UAE residents?
- No. Ireland is an EU member state but has opted out of the Schengen Area. A Schengen visa does NOT allow entry to Ireland. Ireland has its own separate visa system. UAE residents need an Irish visa for all non-exempt nationalities, applied for separately through VFS Global or the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service (INIS). UAE citizens (Emirati passport holders) are visa-exempt for short stays.
- Where is the VFS Global center for Ireland in the UAE?
- Ireland visa applications are processed through VFS Global in Dubai. The VFS UAE center manages Irish visa submissions for all emirates. Oki Doki guarantees a VFS appointment slot for Ireland within 2 weeks and handles the complete document preparation and application process on your behalf.
- Does Ireland require 'original' bank statements with stamps?
- Yes. Ireland applies the '28-day rule' — funds must be in your account for at least 28 days before the application date. Bank statements must be from a recognized UAE bank, showing the full 3–6 month history. Physical branch stamps or official digital authentication are required. Statements cannot show sudden large deposits made just before application.
- How many months of bank statements does Ireland require?
- Ireland requires a minimum of 3–6 months of bank statements. The 28-day rule means funds must have been in your account for at least 28 consecutive days. Six months of statements is strongly recommended for business owners, irregular income earners, or first-time applicants. Statements must show stable, consistent income and balance.
- Can I apply for an Ireland visa if I have a 6-month UAE residence?
- Yes. A 6-month UAE residence visa is sufficient to apply for an Ireland visa, provided your residency is currently valid. With a shorter-term UAE visa, demonstrating strong UAE employment ties and financial stability becomes even more important to satisfy the Irish consulate's 'intent to return' criteria. A detailed cover letter explaining your UAE commitments is essential.
- What is the 'appointment wait time' for Ireland in Dubai?
- VFS appointment slots for Ireland from the UAE can book up 1–3 weeks in advance during peak periods. Oki Doki guarantees a VFS appointment slot for Ireland visa applications within 2 weeks, regardless of general availability. We monitor VFS slot releases and secure appointments proactively for all clients.
- Do I need a 'Salary Certificate' on company letterhead?
- Yes. A salary certificate on official company letterhead, signed by HR or management with the company stamp, is a mandatory document for Ireland visa applications. Ireland specifically requires the salary certificate to confirm consistent employment and income. The certificate should state your position, monthly salary, employment start date, and approved leave.
- Can I get a 2-year multiple-entry visa from the UAE?
- Yes. Ireland issues multiple-entry visas with 1–2 year validity for applicants with strong Irish connection history, clean travel records, and established ties to the UAE. First-time applicants typically receive a single-entry visa. With a clean Ireland visit, subsequent applications can yield longer-validity multiple-entry visas.
- What happens if my Ireland visa is 'rejected' in Dubai?
- If your Irish visa is refused, INIS provides a refusal notification with the reason. You can: (1) Reapply immediately addressing the specific rejection reason — no mandatory waiting period. (2) Appeal the decision to INIS in Dublin within the specified timeframe. (3) Contact Oki Doki for a free consultation — we analyze the refusal and prepare a stronger reapplication. Ireland refusals are often due to financial documentation issues or weak UAE ties.
- Is an 'Ejari' (tenancy contract) required for the Ireland application?
- An Ejari or other proof of UAE accommodation (company accommodation letter, lease agreement, utility bill in your name) is required as evidence of your UAE ties and intent to return. This is one of the key 'return to UAE' indicators that the Irish consulate evaluates.
- How long does the processing take after the VFS appointment?
- Standard Ireland visa processing from the UAE is 15–20 working days after VFS document submission. During Irish public holidays or peak summer travel periods (June–August), processing can extend to 30 days. Apply at least 6 weeks before your travel date. Oki Doki monitors processing and provides status updates.
- Can I apply if my UAE residency expires in 3 months?
- Ireland requires your UAE residence to be valid at the time of your visit and for a period after your return. With 3 months remaining and a 2-week trip, you technically qualify, but the near-expiry raises 'intent to return' concerns. We strongly recommend renewing your UAE visa before applying for the smoothest outcome.
- Is 'Travel Insurance' mandatory for the Ireland visa?
- Travel insurance is not strictly mandatory for Ireland visa applications (unlike Schengen), but it is strongly recommended and helps demonstrate financial responsibility. Ireland's healthcare system is not free for visitors — comprehensive travel insurance covering medical emergencies is essential for a worry-free trip. We include travel insurance in our Ireland application packages.
- Do I need to show 'confirmed' hotel and flight bookings?
- Provisional (refundable) hotel and flight reservations are accepted for Ireland visa applications. Confirmed accommodation for the first and last nights of your stay is required, with a proposed itinerary for other nights. We provide hotel and flight reservations for visa purposes as part of our service.
- Is there a 'Premium Lounge' for Ireland at VFS Dubai?
- Yes. VFS Global Dubai offers a Premium Lounge service for Ireland applications at additional cost, providing a dedicated lounge and enhanced application experience. This does not expedite the visa decision but provides a more comfortable in-person experience at VFS.
- Can I apply for a 'Business Visa' for a meeting in Dublin?
- Yes. Ireland issues business visitor visas for meetings, conferences, and commercial visits in Dublin or other Irish cities. Required documents: invitation letter from the Irish company (on their letterhead, stating meeting purpose and dates), your UAE employer NOC, company trade license, financial proof, and standard application documents.
- What are the common 'refusal reasons' for UAE-based applicants?
- Common Ireland visa refusal reasons from the UAE include: insufficient funds or the 28-day fund rule not met (sudden pre-application deposits), weak UAE ties (short residency, no stable employment), incomplete documents, inconsistent information, and unclear travel purpose. Our preparation specifically targets all these risk factors.
- Does Ireland accept 'digital bank statements' from UAE neobanks?
- Ireland follows the 28-day funds rule rigorously. Digital statements with official bank authentication (QR codes, digital watermarks) from major UAE banks are accepted. Pure neobank statements without official authentication should be supplemented with a salary confirmation letter. The key is showing 28+ days of fund continuity, not the format.
- Can I apply for an Ireland visa as a 'student' in Dubai?
- Yes. Students on UAE student visas can apply for an Ireland tourist visa. Additional documents: UAE university enrollment letter, parent/sponsor financial proof (28-day rule applies), sponsor NOC and bank statements, school NOC for approved absence, and standard application documents. A clear cover letter is important.
- Is the 'NOC from school' required for minors traveling to Ireland?
- Yes. Children traveling during UAE school term time require an NOC from their school confirming permission to be absent for the travel dates. The NOC must be on official school letterhead with the principal's or authorized administrator's signature. This is required by the Irish consulate for all minor applicants not traveling during official school holidays.

Ireland Visa for UAE Residents — Critical: Not Schengen
Ireland is NOT a member of the Schengen zone — despite being an EU member state. This means an Ireland visa is entirely separate from any Schengen visa you may hold. If you plan a trip combining Ireland and continental Europe (e.g., London, Paris, and Dublin), you need two separate visas. The Ireland Short-Stay C Visa (also called an Irish Tourist Visa) is administered by the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service (INIS) in Dublin. Applications from UAE are submitted at the IVAC (Irish Visa Application Centre) in Dubai — a separate facility from VFS Global. Oki Doki processes Ireland visas from AED 2,000 with processing from 10 working days.
Who Needs an Ireland Visa from UAE?
All non-Irish, non-UK, and non-EU UAE residents whose nationalities are on Ireland's "visa required" list need an Ireland visa. This includes Indian, Pakistani, Filipino, Bangladeshi, Chinese, Egyptian, Russian, Ukrainian, and most African, Middle Eastern, and South/Southeast Asian passport holders. Even if you hold a valid Schengen visa, you still need a separate Ireland visa to enter Ireland. UAE nationals (Emirati passport holders) may enter Ireland visa-free for up to 90 days.
Ireland + UK — Two Separate Visas
Many UAE residents plan combined Ireland and UK trips. Ireland uses its own immigration system; the UK uses a separate system (British National Visas). Holding a UK visitor visa does not automatically permit entry to Ireland, and holding an Irish visa does not allow entry to the UK. You need separate visa applications for each country. If you are transiting through London to Dublin (common route from Dubai), note that UK transit visa rules may also apply — check UKVI rules for your nationality.
Types of Ireland Visa from UAE
Ireland issues Single Journey and Multiple Journey short-stay C visas from UAE.
Single Journey C Visa
Valid for one entry to Ireland, stay up to 90 days. Most first-time Ireland applicants from UAE receive single-entry. Processing fee: €60.
Multiple Journey C Visa
Multiple entries to Ireland for up to 3 years (each visit max 90 days). Granted to applicants with strong Irish visit history, clear genuine visitor intent, and stable UAE residency. Processing fee: €100. Strong travel history to Ireland and clean INIS records are required.
Join Family / Visit Family D Visa
If you are visiting immediate family members who are Irish residents or citizens, you may apply under a family visit category with additional family relationship documentation. Contact IVAC for specific requirements for this category.
Ireland Visa Documents — Complete Checklist
Ireland's document requirements are significantly stricter and more specific than Schengen. The certified translation requirement, the 6-month bank statement requirement, and the 4-week freshness requirement on employment documents are the three most common sources of application failure.
Core Documents — All Applicants
Completed online Ireland visa application form (from INIS website — must be completed online before IVAC appointment). Current passport (valid throughout intended Ireland stay and for 6 months after). All passport page copies. UAE residence visa copy + Emirates ID both sides. Two recent passport photos (35×45mm, white background). Travel insurance covering medical and repatriation. Round-trip flight reservation to Ireland. Hotel bookings for full Ireland stay. Cover letter explaining purpose, specific Ireland itinerary, and strong UAE ties. IVAC processing fee receipt (€60 or €100, paid online).
Employment Documents — CRITICAL: Must Be Fresh
Employment letter from employer on company letterhead. Must be dated within 4 weeks of IVAC appointment — not 1 month, specifically 4 weeks. Must state: employee full name, passport number, position, monthly salary, leave approval dates, confirmation of return to employment. Company stamp and authorised signatory. Salary certificate from HR confirming monthly salary — also within 4 weeks of appointment.
6-Month Bank Statements — Ireland's Unique Requirement
Ireland requires 6 full months of bank statements — not 3 months like most Schengen countries. Statements must be original or certified bank-generated documents (not screenshots). If e-statement: must be complete, unedited PDFs. The 6-month history must show consistent salary deposits and responsible financial management. INIS checks the full 6-month pattern — not just current balance.
Certified Translation — Mandatory for Non-English Documents
ALL documents that are not in English or Irish must be accompanied by a certified translation. This includes: marriage certificates in Arabic; birth certificates in Urdu, Hindi, or other languages; financial documents in languages other than English. Certified translation means a professional translator certifies accuracy — you cannot self-translate. Google Translate or informal translation is never accepted. This is Ireland's strictest document rule and a frequent cause of rejection.
Business Owners
Trade license (UAE) — original and copy. 6 months company bank statements. 6 months personal bank statements. Business cover letter explaining trip purpose and company operations. Evidence of UAE business activity (contracts, client letters, invoices). For sole owners: NOC equivalent on company letterhead signed and stamped.
Dependents and Housewives
Sponsor NOC addressed to Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service. Sponsor's 6-month bank statements. Sponsor's salary certificate and employment letter (within 4 weeks). Attested marriage certificate with certified English translation if not originally in English. Birth certificates for children (attested + certified translation). Full copies of sponsor's passport, UAE visa, Emirates ID.
Application Process at IVAC Dubai
Ireland visa applications go through IVAC (Irish Visa Application Centre) in Dubai — completely separate from VFS Global. IVAC forwards applications to INIS in Dublin, which processes all decisions.
Online Application First
Unlike VFS-based applications, Ireland requires you to complete the online application form at visas.inis.gov.ie BEFORE your IVAC appointment. You receive an application number that you bring to IVAC. Completing this form requires careful attention — any inconsistencies between the online form and submitted documents are grounds for rejection.
IVAC Appointment
IVAC Dubai is located separately from the Schengen VFS centres — book appointment at ivacinfo.com/UAE. Pay IVAC service fee online. Attend appointment with all physical documents, printed online application form, and fee receipt. IVAC staff verify documents and biometrics. Application is forwarded to INIS Dublin for decision.
Processing Timeline
INIS Dublin processes most UAE applications within 4–8 weeks. However, processing can extend to 10–12 weeks during busy periods (June–September, December). Apply at least 8 weeks before intended travel. For summer travel (June–August): apply 10–12 weeks ahead. Do not book non-refundable flights until visa is approved — Ireland processing times are not guaranteed. Ireland does not offer a fast-track or premium processing service from UAE.
Tracking Your Application
Track your application status online at visas.inis.gov.ie/avats using your online application number. INIS updates this regularly. Decision notification comes by email to the address provided in your online application. Passport returned via IVAC or passport delivery service — allow 5–7 working days after decision for physical return.
Ireland Visa Fees — 2026
Ireland visa fees are higher than Schengen and are non-refundable in all cases.
INIS Official Fee
Single journey C visa: €60 (~AED 240). Multiple journey C visa: €100 (~AED 400). Fees are paid online through the INIS payment system before IVAC appointment. Non-refundable even if application is refused — quality preparation is critical.
Additional Fees
IVAC service fee: paid separately at appointment. Certified translation fees: variable (typically AED 150–300 per document). Oki Doki full service: from AED 2,000 — covers online form completion, document review, cover letter, certified translation coordination, IVAC appointment, WhatsApp updates throughout 4–8 week process.
Tips for Ireland Visa Success
Ireland visa success from UAE requires more careful preparation than Schengen. These specific strategies consistently produce approvals.
The 4-Week Employment Document Timing
Employment letter and salary certificate must be dated within 4 weeks of the IVAC appointment — not "about a month." If your IVAC appointment is March 28, your employment letter must be dated March 1 or later. This is the most common cause of avoidable Ireland rejections from UAE. Coordinate with your HR department in advance to ensure correct timing.
Build Your 6-Month Bank History
Start your "Ireland visa banking preparation" 6 months before you plan to apply. Consistent salary deposits, responsible spending, and a healthy average balance (not just a peak balance before application) across 6 full months is what INIS looks for. If you recently started a new job or switched banks, you may need to wait until 6 months of clean history is available.
Cover Letter Must Demonstrate Genuine Visitor Intent
Ireland's INIS is particularly focused on "genuine visitor intent" — the belief that you will return to UAE before your visa expires. Your cover letter must convincingly demonstrate UAE ties: your employment contract, UAE property ownership, family in UAE, length of UAE residence, and career reasons to return. Mention specific Ireland plans: Dublin's Trinity College and Guinness Storehouse, a Ring of Kerry drive, the Cliffs of Moher. Generic letters without specific Ireland plans and clear UAE ties frequently result in refusals.
Non-English Documents — Plan Translation in Advance
If any of your documents are in Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, Russian, Chinese, or any other non-English language, arrange certified translation well before your IVAC appointment. This takes 2–5 working days. Do not underestimate this step — even if you are perfectly fluent in English, INIS requires certified professional translations. Oki Doki partners with certified translators for all common languages.
Discover Ireland — The Emerald Isle
Ireland is one of Europe's most distinctive travel experiences — wild Atlantic landscapes, ancient Celtic history, vibrant pub culture, and literary giants around every corner.
Dublin — Pubs, Literature, and Guinness
Dublin is a city of literary culture (birthplace of James Joyce, Samuel Beckett, Oscar Wilde, and W.B. Yeats), vibrant pub music sessions, and world-class museums. The Guinness Storehouse (Ireland's most visited attraction) traces the history of Ireland's most famous export with a panoramic rooftop bar. Trinity College houses the 9th-century Book of Kells — extraordinary illuminated manuscript. Temple Bar: Dublin's cultural quarter with live music from 11am daily. St. Patrick's Cathedral and Dublin Castle are within walking distance of the city centre.
The Cliffs of Moher and Wild Atlantic Way
The Cliffs of Moher (County Clare) are 214 metres of sheer Atlantic cliff stretching 14km — one of Ireland's most breathtaking natural spectacles. The Wild Atlantic Way is a 2,500km signed driving route along Ireland's entire western Atlantic coast — from Donegal in the north to Cork in the south. Highlights: the Ring of Kerry (179km scenic drive through mountains and coastline), the Dingle Peninsula (Ireland's westernmost point), Connemara national park, and the Aran Islands (accessible by ferry or small plane from Galway).
Ancient Ireland — Newgrange, Cashel, and Giant's Causeway
Newgrange (County Meath) is a 5,200-year-old Neolithic passage tomb — 600 years older than Stonehenge — built so that the winter solstice sunrise illuminates its inner chamber. The Rock of Cashel (County Tipperary) is a 12th-century medieval fortress of round towers and Romanesque chapels on a dramatic limestone rock. The Giant's Causeway (Northern Ireland, accessible on a day trip) contains 40,000 perfectly formed basalt columns — a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Practical Ireland — Budget and Getting Around
Ireland is moderately expensive by European standards. Daily budget mid-range: AED 500–800 (accommodation + meals + transport + attraction entry). Dublin 3-star hotel: €120–180/night. Outside Dublin (Kerry, Clare, Galway): €80–130/night. Car rental from Dublin: €40–80/day (required for Wild Atlantic Way exploration). Guinness pint in Dublin: ~€7 (expensive — budget travellers use off-licence supermarket beer). Irish public transport (Bus Éireann) connects major towns but car rental gives far greater flexibility.
Common Mistakes — Ireland Visa from UAE
These specific errors cause most Ireland visa failures from UAE applicants.
Employment Document Date Error
Employment letter or salary certificate older than 4 weeks from IVAC appointment date. This is the most common avoidable error. Some applicants get documents in advance for convenience — this backfires if the appointment is more than 4 weeks later. Always coordinate timing precisely.
3 Months Bank Statements Instead of 6
Submitting 3 months (the Schengen standard) instead of 6. Ireland will return the application requesting 6 months, causing a minimum 3–4 week delay. Always submit 6 months for Ireland, no exceptions.
Missing Certified Translations
Submitting documents in Arabic, Urdu, or other languages without certified English translation. INIS returns these without processing. The fix requires retranslation and resubmission — adding weeks to the process and potentially missing your travel date.
Non-Refundable Flight Bookings Before Approval
Ireland processing takes 4–8 weeks. Booking non-refundable flights or hotels before approval exposes you to significant financial loss on rejection. Always use refundable/flexible bookings until the visa is in your passport.

Combined Ireland + UK Applications
For clients planning combined UK-Ireland trips: we handle both applications simultaneously, advise on optimal sequencing and timing, and ensure there is no conflict between the two applications (common pitfall: applying for Ireland with the same bank statements and employment letter used for UK application — sometimes timing issues arise). We process both applications as a coordinated package.
