How the Score is Calculated
Canada Visa Approval Assessment Methodology
Our calculator analyzes 8 key factors that directly influence Canada embassy decisions. The database covers 82+ nationalities, each with an individual approval coefficient based on published visa statistics. Canada difficulty rating: Strict (5/5). Each factor carries an individual weight that reflects real-world consulate decision-making patterns.
How the Weighted Scoring System Works
Each factor is scored from 0 to 100 points based on your answer. That score is then multiplied by the factor's weight (importance percentage). Your final score is the sum of all weighted scores, adjusted for the country's difficulty level.
The 8 Factors Explained
Country Difficulty Adjustment
The final score is adjusted by Canada's strictness level (5/5). Countries with high strictness (4–5) apply an additional deduction to the final score, as their consulates impose stricter documentation and evidence requirements. Countries with low strictness (1–2) apply no additional deduction.
Result Categories
Important: The calculator is based on published visa statistics and expert experience from processing thousands of applications from the UAE. It does not guarantee an outcome — the final decision always rests with the consular officer. Use the result as a guide for preparing your documentation.

Canada Bank Balance Calculator
How much money do you need in your bank account for a visa?
How Bank Balance is Calculated
Canada Visa Bank Balance Requirements
The calculator uses a dual-tier system: the official paper minimum and the expert recommendation. The paper minimum is the embassy's formal requirement. The expert recommendation is the amount at which your application won't trigger additional scrutiny.
The Dual-Tier System
Official rate: €null/day. This is the minimum amount stated in the embassy's formal requirements. Formula: trip days × daily rate.
The real amount that ensures approval: ~5× above the paper minimum. Based on analysis of thousands of successful applications from the UAE. At this level, the embassy doesn't raise additional financial questions.
How the Calculation Works
The calculator computes the required balance based on 3 parameters:
- Number of trip days — determines the total minimum
- Number of travelers — multiplier for family applications
- Accommodation type — pre-booked hotel reduces the balance requirement, as accommodation costs are already covered
What Embassies Check in Your Bank Statement
When to Start Preparing Your Bank Account
What to Do if Your Balance is Low
- →Attach a credit card statement showing a high available limit
- →Add an employer sponsorship letter confirming your salary and position
- →Consider reducing trip duration to lower the requirement
- →Include a fixed deposit or savings certificate as supplementary proof
Important: Financial requirements may vary depending on the specific consulate and visa type. The rates shown are based on current official data and expert experience. We recommend targeting the expert tier for maximum approval chances.

Services: Free Case Review, Strengthened Application
- How long is the 'biometrics validity' for UAE residents currently?
- Biometrics collected for a Canada visa application are valid for 10 years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. Once you have enrolled biometrics at VFS Global Dubai, you will not need to re-enroll for subsequent Canadian visa applications within this period. If your passport has changed or biometrics were collected more than 10 years ago, a new enrollment is required.
- Is the Canada visa process purely online for Dubai-based applicants?
- Yes — the Canada visa application is submitted entirely online through the IRCC portal (canada.ca/immigration). There is no paper form submission. However, if biometrics are required (first-time applicants or re-enrollment), you must visit VFS Global Dubai in person to provide fingerprints and photo. Your physical passport is also submitted at VFS for visa stamping if approved.
- Do I need to submit my physical passport at VFS Global Dubai?
- Yes. After your online application is approved, IRCC will instruct you to submit your physical passport at VFS Global Dubai for visa stamping. You must also submit biometrics at VFS if not previously enrolled. The VFS service includes a passport collection option or return by courier. Oki Doki coordinates your VFS appointment and passport submission on your behalf.
- Does a 'Golden Visa' help in getting a 10-year Canada visa?
- A UAE Golden Visa significantly strengthens your Canada visa profile by demonstrating long-term UAE residency, financial stability, and strong ties — all of which IRCC uses to assess 'intent to return' to the UAE. While it does not guarantee a 10-year visa, Golden Visa holders from the UAE have a higher probability of receiving multiple-entry visas with 5–10 year validity, subject to IRCC officer discretion.
- How much 'proof of funds' is recommended for a 3-week Canada trip?
- Canada does not specify an official minimum, but IRCC officers expect sufficient funds to cover your entire trip without working in Canada. For a 3-week (21-day) trip, a practical guideline is CAD 200–300 per day (approximately AED 540–810/day), totaling approximately CAD 4,200–6,300 (~AED 11,500–17,200) per person. Your 6-month UAE bank statement with consistent salary credits and a stable closing balance is the primary financial evidence.
- Does Canada check UAE 'Credit Bureau' (Al Etihad) scores?
- No. IRCC does not access UAE credit bureau (Al Etihad Credit Bureau) data for visa assessment. Your Canadian visa eligibility is evaluated based on your immigration application documents: bank statements, employment proof, travel history, and ties to the UAE. UAE credit history is not part of the visa assessment criteria.
- What is the current processing time for Canada visas from the UAE?
- Standard visitor visa (TRV) processing times from the UAE vary from 4–16 weeks depending on application volume and complexity. IRCC publishes current processing times on their website, which fluctuate regularly. We strongly recommend applying at least 8–12 weeks before your travel date. Oki Doki monitors IRCC processing queues and advises on optimal application timing.
- Do I need an NOC if I am a 'Partner' in a UAE LLC?
- LLC partners need a company letter (on official letterhead with company stamp) stating your role, ownership stake, monthly income, approved travel dates, and the company's active status — along with a copy of the valid trade license and MOA. You do not need an external NOC from yourself, but the company letter acts as the equivalent. 6 months of business bank statements is also highly recommended.
- Can I visit my siblings in Canada if I am a UAE resident?
- Yes. Visiting siblings or other family members in Canada is a valid purpose for a Tourist/Visitor visa. Provide a letter of invitation from your sibling (showing their Canadian PR/citizenship status, residential address, contact details, and confirmation they are hosting you), along with all standard financial and employment documents. A clear family relationship proof (birth certificate) strengthens the application.
- Does Canada require 'Upfront Medicals' for UAE residents?
- Medical examinations are required only if specifically requested by IRCC or if your country of citizenship is on the designated list requiring upfront medicals. UAE residents from countries typically requiring medical exams (e.g., certain nationals) should check IRCC's requirements. For short tourist visits from the UAE, medicals are usually not required upfront but may be requested during processing.
- How do I prove 'intent to return to the UAE' if my job is new?
- For a new job in the UAE, provide: your employment contract (even if recently started), salary slips for however many months you have worked, an employer NOC confirming your employment status and return date, proof of UAE accommodation (Ejari), Emirates ID, and any family ties in the UAE. A detailed cover letter explaining your career development, plans in the UAE, and reasons for returning is critical for new employees.
- Is the 'eTA' available for UAE residents with US Green Cards?
- The eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization) is available for visa-exempt nationalities visiting Canada by air. UAE citizens (Emirati passport holders) require a full visitor visa — they are not currently on Canada's eTA list. US Green Card holders from visa-required countries who reside in the UAE may qualify for an eTA if their nationality is otherwise eTA-eligible — check the IRCC website for your specific nationality.
- What happens if my Canada visa application is 'refused' from Dubai?
- If IRCC refuses your application, you will receive a refusal letter explaining the reason(s). You can: (1) Reapply with a strengthened application addressing the specific concerns — there is no mandatory wait period. (2) Request a reconsideration (though IRCC's internal review process has limitations). (3) Contact Oki Doki for a free consultation to analyze your refusal and build a significantly stronger reapplication. Addressing Section 214(b)-equivalent concerns about UAE ties is usually the key.
- Do I need to provide a 'Statement of Purpose' for a visitor visa?
- A cover letter (Statement of Purpose) is not strictly required but is highly recommended. It should explain: your travel purpose and itinerary, your financial capacity, and most importantly, your strong ties to the UAE that demonstrate you will return (employment, family, property, ongoing commitments). A well-written cover letter has a measurable positive impact on IRCC officer decisions.
- Are 'Salary Slips' more important than the bank statement for Canada?
- Both are equally important and complement each other. Salary slips confirm your current employment and income level, while bank statements show the actual financial history and account behavior. IRCC expects to see salary credits appearing in your bank account matching your salary slips. Inconsistency between salary slips and bank credits is a common rejection trigger. Submit both for the strongest application.
- Can I apply for a 'Super Visa' for my parents from the UAE?
- A Super Visa is designed for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents. If your child is a Canadian citizen or PR, they can apply for a Super Visa on your behalf. Requirements include: Canadian child's PR/citizenship proof, Canadian medical insurance for at least 1 year (minimum CAD 100,000 coverage), financial proof of the Canadian host child, and standard UAE-based financial documents for the applicant. We can guide you through the Super Visa application process.
- Is the 'VFS Global' transmission fee separate from the visa fee?
- Yes. The Canadian visa processing fee paid to IRCC (currently CAD 100 for a single entry or CAD 100 for multiple entry) is separate from the VFS Global service fee (approximately AED 120–150). Both must be paid — the IRCC fee is paid online during application, and the VFS fee is paid at the VFS center during your biometrics appointment.
- Can I use a 'travel agent' in Dubai for my Canada application?
- Yes — authorized immigration consultants and travel agents in Dubai can assist with Canadian visa applications. However, Canada visa applications must be submitted through the official IRCC portal — agents cannot use proprietary submission systems. Oki Doki acts as your authorized representative, preparing all documents, completing the online application, and coordinating your VFS appointment.
- Does Canada accept the 'Emirates ID' as primary residency proof?
- The Emirates ID, combined with your UAE residence visa stamp in your passport, is accepted as proof of UAE residency for Canadian visa applications. IRCC also values the Ejari (tenancy contract), utility bills, and employer letters as supporting residency evidence. The Emirates ID alone is not sufficient — it must be accompanied by your passport containing a valid UAE residence visa stamp.
- How do I handle a 'request for more info' (PFL) from IRCC?
- A Procedural Fairness Letter (PFL) from IRCC is a formal request for additional information or a response to concerns about your application. You must respond within the specified deadline (usually 30 days). The PFL will specify what information is needed. Oki Doki specializes in responding to PFLs — a well-crafted response addressing IRCC's specific concerns can turn a likely refusal into an approval.

Canada Visa for UAE Residents — Overview
Canada is one of the most difficult and document-intensive visa applications UAE residents face. The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) assesses applications through a holistic immigration intent framework — every element of the application must collectively argue that the applicant has strong ties to the UAE and will return after the visit. UAE nationals and citizens of most Western countries are either visa-exempt (requiring only an eTA) or visa-free. Indian, Pakistani, Filipino, Bangladeshi, Egyptian, Sri Lankan, and most other Asian/African nationals require a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV, also called a Visitor Visa) and apply through the VFS Global Canada centre in Dubai (DIFC) or Abu Dhabi.
Who Needs a Canada Visa from UAE?
UAE nationals do not need a visa for Canada but must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) for flights arriving at Canadian airports — the eTA costs CAD 7 (approximately AED 19) and is applied for online at canada.ca/eta. Indian, Pakistani, Filipino, Bangladeshi, Egyptian, Sri Lankan, Nepalese, and most African nationals require a Canadian Visitor Visa (TRV). Applications are submitted at VFS Global Canada Dubai located in DIFC (Dubai International Financial Centre) or VFS Global Canada Abu Dhabi. Biometrics (fingerprints and digital photograph) are collected at VFS for most nationalities — the biometric fee is CAD 85 (approximately AED 232) and must be paid separately from the visa application fee.
Canada eTA for UAE Nationals — Key Details
UAE passport holders are visa-exempt for Canada for stays of up to 6 months per visit, but must apply for and hold a valid Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to board flights to Canada. The eTA is applied for online at canada.ca/eta, takes 72 hours to process (usually approved within minutes), costs CAD 7 (AED 19), is valid for 5 years, and is linked electronically to the passport — there is no sticker or stamp. If a UAE national's passport is renewed, they must apply for a new eTA linked to the new passport. The eTA is required for air travel only — UAE nationals entering Canada by land or sea do not require an eTA but must present their passport.
Types of Canada Visa Available from UAE
Canada issues several temporary resident visa categories relevant to UAE residents. The most common is the Visitor Visa (TRV), but Super Visa, Student Visa, and Work Permit applications are also processed through VFS in UAE.
Visitor Visa (TRV) — Single & Multiple Entry
The Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) is the standard tourist/visitor visa for Canada. It allows entry for stays of up to 6 months per visit (determined by the CBSA officer at the port of entry). Single-entry TRVs are valid for 1 travel within the visa validity period. Multiple-entry TRVs (METV) — the most commonly issued type — are valid for 10 years or 1 month before passport expiry (whichever comes first) and allow unlimited entries with each stay up to 6 months. Application fee: CAD 100 (approximately AED 273). Biometrics fee: CAD 85 (AED 232) — payable only once every 10 years. Most UAE-based applicants are issued multiple-entry TRVs if approved.
Super Visa — Parents & Grandparents
The Super Visa allows parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents to stay in Canada for up to 5 years per visit (compared to 6 months for a regular TRV). It requires: a letter of invitation from the child/grandchild in Canada who is a citizen or PR; proof of the child's income meeting a minimum threshold (approximately CAD 55,000–75,000 depending on family size); medical insurance from a Canadian or UAE insurer valid for at least 1 year with minimum CAD 100,000 coverage. Application fee same as TRV: CAD 100. Processing through VFS Global UAE.
Study Permit
For applicants accepted to Designated Learning Institutions (DLIs) in Canada — universities, colleges, language schools registered with the Canadian government. Requires a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from the DLI, proof of financial capacity for tuition plus living expenses (minimum CAD 10,000 per year beyond tuition), a police clearance certificate, and a medical examination by an IRCC-designated physician. UAE residents applying for study permits must also submit a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) for most provinces from 2024 onwards. Processing: 8–12 weeks from VFS biometric submission.
Work Permit
For applicants with a valid job offer from a Canadian employer with a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) approval, or for intra-company transfers. Requires the LMIA number or LMIA-exempt category code, employment contract, employer Business Number, and proof of qualifications. Processing through VFS UAE — biometrics collected. Work permit applications are complex and Oki Doki refers these to specialist Canadian immigration lawyers.
Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)
For visa-exempt nationalities arriving in Canada by air — including UAE nationals. Applied for at canada.ca/eta. CAD 7 (AED 19). Valid 5 years. Linked to passport electronically. Must be renewed when passport is renewed. Processing: usually within minutes; maximum 72 hours. Citizens of the UK, EU, Australia, Japan, and South Korea (among others) who are visa-exempt for Canada must have a valid eTA to board flights.
Document Checklist by Applicant Type
Canada Visitor Visa (TRV) applications require the most comprehensive document set of any visa Oki Doki processes. IRCC assesses applications holistically — a single weak document area can result in refusal even when all other documents are strong.
(a) Core Documents — All Applicants
(1) Valid passport with at least 6 months beyond intended return from Canada; all passports issued in the last 10 years must be submitted. (2) Completed IMM 5257 (Visitor Visa application form) and IMM 5645 (Family Information form) — completed online through the IRCC portal or on paper. (3) Two passport-size photographs (35mm × 45mm, white background). (4) Valid UAE residence visa and Emirates ID — both sides. (5) Confirmed return flight itinerary (not necessarily ticketed at application stage — agency itinerary is acceptable). (6) Hotel bookings or letter of invitation from a Canadian host with their proof of status in Canada (citizenship certificate, PR card, study/work permit). (7) Travel itinerary covering all planned activities in Canada. (8) TRV application fee (CAD 100) and biometrics fee (CAD 85) — payable at VFS.
(b) Employed Applicants
Salary certificate on company letterhead — issued within 30 days, specifying position, salary in AED, start date, and explicit statement that leave has been approved for the travel period. Last 6 months' UAE bank statements (not 3 months — Canada requires 6 months) showing consistent salary deposits. Minimum closing balance: AED 20,000 for a 2-week Canada trip. Employment contract (labour card or MOHRE contract). For UAE government employees: official ministry letter on government letterhead.
(c) Self-Employed / Business Owners
UAE trade licence (current). Last 6 months' business bank statements — minimum closing balance AED 30,000. Last 6 months' personal bank statements — minimum AED 15,000 closing balance (separate from business account). Personal cover letter addressing ties to UAE and purpose of Canada visit in detail. Company registration documents (MOA). Evidence of ongoing business obligations in UAE (outstanding contracts, employee payroll records) — this demonstrates ties to the UAE and intent to return.
(d) Dependents / Housewives
Sponsor's complete 6-month financial package: 6 months' bank statements with minimum AED 25,000 closing balance. Notarised sponsorship letter in English explicitly stating financial responsibility. Marriage certificate with English translation. If children are included: birth certificates with English translation. Sponsor's employment documents — salary certificate, NOC, employment contract. Evidence of shared accommodation in UAE (tenancy contract in both names or sponsor's name).
(e) Students
Current UAE enrolment certificate from school or university. Student ID. Bank statements from student or parent — 6 months, minimum AED 15,000. If parent-funded: complete parent financial package (6 months statements, salary certificate, NOC). For applicants applying for a Canadian study permit: Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from the Canadian DLI, Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) for most provinces, proof of tuition payment or financial guarantee, and a Statement of Purpose explaining why Canada for the chosen program.
Financial Requirements for Canada Visitor Visa from UAE
Canada's IRCC uses a holistic financial assessment — the question is not merely whether the applicant has enough money for the trip, but whether their financial profile suggests they have strong reasons to return to the UAE after the visit.
Recommended Minimum Balances and Financial Profile
For a 2-week Canada trip: minimum AED 20,000 closing balance. For a 1-month trip: minimum AED 35,000. Canada is one of the most expensive travel destinations globally — approximate daily costs in Toronto or Vancouver: CAD 200–400 (AED 548–1,096) per person per day including mid-range accommodation, meals, local transport, and activities. Canada requires 6 months of bank statements — not the standard 3 months required by Schengen or Korea. This is a non-negotiable requirement and applications submitted with only 3 months of statements are returned.
Ties to the UAE — The Central Assessment Criterion
The most important factor in a Canadian TRV assessment is the officer's belief that the applicant has compelling reasons to return to the UAE. Strong ties to UAE include: long-term UAE employment with a managerial or professional role (not entry-level service jobs, which carry higher immigration risk); property ownership in the UAE; immediate family remaining in the UAE (spouse, children) while the applicant travels alone; business ownership in the UAE; or a long-term UAE residence visa (Golden Visa holders have a natural advantage). Applicants with no immediate family in UAE, entry-level employment, and short residency history are statistically at higher risk of TRV refusal.
Canada Visa Application Process — Step by Step
Canada Visitor Visa (TRV) applications from UAE are submitted at VFS Global Canada centres in Dubai (DIFC) and Abu Dhabi, with biometrics collected at VFS.
VFS Global Canada Dubai — Location & Hours
VFS Global Canada Dubai: Gate Village, DIFC (Dubai International Financial Centre), Building 2. Operating hours: Sunday to Thursday, 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. VFS Global Canada Abu Dhabi: Al Bateen area. Similar operating hours. Appointments are mandatory and booked online at vfsglobal.com under the Canada category. During peak summer season (June–August) and UAE National Day period (December), appointment slots fill 3–4 weeks in advance.
Step-by-Step Application
Step 1 — Determine whether you need a TRV (visitor visa), Study Permit, or Super Visa — and whether biometrics are required (they are, for most nationalities). Step 2 — Create an IRCC online account at canada.ca/ircc and complete IMM 5257 and IMM 5645 online. Step 3 — Prepare all supporting documents: 6 months' bank statements, salary certificate, employer NOC, employment contract, flight itinerary, hotel bookings or host letter, and all ID documents. Step 4 — Obtain English translations of all Arabic documents through a certified translator. Step 5 — Book VFS Global Canada appointment online for biometric enrolment. Step 6 — Attend VFS Canada in person: submit all documents and biometrics (fingerprints + digital photo). Pay TRV fee (CAD 100) and biometrics fee (CAD 85) at VFS. Step 7 — Track application status online at canada.ca/ircc using the application number. Step 8 — If approved, receive the visa stamped in your passport via VFS courier or in-person collection. If refused, a refusal letter specifying reasons is issued — Oki Doki reviews refusal letters and advises on reapplication strategy.

Canada Visitor Visa Processing Time from UAE — 2026
Canada TRV processing times are set by IRCC and vary significantly based on nationality and application volume. As of 2025–2026, standard processing from UAE through VFS Global is typically 4–8 weeks from the date biometrics are collected.
- Standard TRV processing: 4–8 weeks from biometric submission at VFS Global UAE.
- Peak periods (June–August, December): 10–14 weeks.
- IRCC does not offer an official express lane for UAE-based applicants.
- Apply minimum 3 months before travel — 4–5 months during peak summer.
- eTA processing: usually minutes; maximum 72 hours.
- Study Permit: 8–12 weeks from biometric submission.
- Oki Doki monitors IRCC processing times weekly and advises on optimal application submission timing.
- Clients are notified immediately of any IRCC additional document requests (ADRs) — responding within 30 days is mandatory.
The One Thing Everyone Gets Wrong — Canada Visa from UAE
The single most impactful misunderstanding in Canada TRV applications from UAE is the failure to address immigration intent — applicants spend all their effort on financial documents while neglecting to build a compelling ties-to-UAE narrative.
Immigration Intent — The Real Reason Applications Are Refused
The most common refusal reason for Canadian TRV applications from UAE is not financial insufficiency — it is that the visa officer was not satisfied that the applicant would leave Canada at the end of their visit. This is the immigration intent assessment. A Pakistani national earning AED 8,000 per month with 3 years of UAE residency, no property, and no immediate family remaining in UAE when they apply to visit a cousin in Canada presents a significant immigration risk profile in the IRCC system. Conversely, a Pakistani national at the same income level who owns a flat in Lahore, has a spouse and two children in the UAE, manages a small business in Dubai, and has prior US or Schengen travel history is a much lower risk profile.
How to Build Strong Ties — Practical Steps
Before applying for a Canadian TRV, ensure you can document as many of the following as possible: UAE tenancy contract or property ownership; employment contract demonstrating long-term UAE engagement; family members in UAE (spouse/children remaining while you travel); prior US, UK, Schengen, or other Western country visa stamps showing a history of compliance; prior Canada visits where you returned as required; and business ownership or senior management role in the UAE. Oki Doki prepares a comprehensive cover letter addressing ties to UAE and immigration intent, tailored to each applicant's specific profile — this is the most valuable document preparation service we provide for Canada applications.

Canada requires 6 months of bank statements — the only major destination in Oki Doki's portfolio with this requirement.
6 Months of Statements — What IRCC Looks For
IRCC officers review: consistent salary deposits matching the employment certificate; an average monthly balance that demonstrates genuine financial capacity; no large unexplained deposits (above CAD 5,000 / AED 13,650) in the last 3 months; and a closing balance that comfortably covers the estimated cost of the Canada trip. For applicants with a salary-based income profile, 6 months of statements is the standard. For self-employed applicants, 6 months of both business and personal bank statements are required.
Supplementary Financial Documents
Canada-specific financial supporting documents that IRCC views favourably: property ownership deed in UAE or home country; fixed deposit or savings certificates; letter of financial sponsorship from a Canadian host (citizen or PR) who will cover accommodation and living costs; investment portfolio statements; and retirement/pension fund statements for older applicants. Do NOT include credit card statements as primary financial evidence — IRCC prefers liquid assets over credit lines.
Canada Visitor Visa Rejection Reasons from UAE
The following are the most common refusal reasons for Canadian TRV applications from UAE, based on IRCC refusal letter analysis.
- Immigration intent not established — officer not satisfied that the applicant has strong enough ties to UAE to guarantee return.
- Insufficient financial evidence — only 3 months of statements provided instead of 6 months.
- Large unexplained cash deposits — prevention: rely on organic salary history.
- Purpose of visit not clearly explained — vague or generic travel itineraries without specific activities, cities, and dates.
- Host invitation letter from a Canadian resident that does not include their proof of status in Canada.
- No prior international travel history.
- No family remaining in UAE while the applicant travels.
- Arabic employment documents without certified English translation.
- Application submitted too close to travel date — IRCC processing takes 4–8 weeks minimum.
- Multiple previous Canada TRV refusals without addressing the specific stated reasons.
Best Time to Visit Canada from UAE
Canada is a year-round destination but its extremes are more dramatic than almost anywhere UAE residents visit.
Spring — April to May
April and May are excellent for Vancouver and Toronto. Vancouver in April is green, mild (12–18°C), with cherry blossom season along West Georgia Street and at UBC. Toronto reaches 8–18°C by May — the CN Tower (AED 185), Niagara Falls day trips (AED 275 by tour). Ottawa's Tulip Festival (May). UAE spring school break (April) is an excellent timing window.
Summer — June to August
Canadian summer (22–30°C in Toronto, 18–25°C in Vancouver) is peak season — Rocky Mountain national parks (Banff, Jasper, Yoho) are accessible. The Calgary Stampede (July, 10 days) is the world's largest outdoor rodeo. Montreal Jazz Festival and Quebec City Festival d'été are major cultural events. UAE school summer holiday families — apply minimum 5 months ahead.
Autumn — September to November
September and October bring extraordinary autumn foliage to Ontario, Quebec, and Nova Scotia. The Laurentian Mountains north of Montreal are at their most spectacular in early October. Toronto's TIFF (September). Vancouver in October reaches 8–14°C with frequent rain.
Winter — December to February
Canadian winter is extreme: Toronto -10°C to -20°C in January, Montreal -15°C to -25°C, Vancouver milder at 2–8°C year-round. Quebec City Winter Carnival (February) is the world's largest winter festival. Whistler ski resort: ski day passes from AED 500. Northern Lights viewing in Yukon and NWT in February–March.
