Technically, a Schengen visa allows entry into any country in the zone. However, it’s strongly recommended that your first entry is through the country that issued the visa.
This is especially important for Russian passport holders — in recent months, there have been growing cases where travelers with, for example, a Hungarian visa were denied entry to Germany, and in some cases, their visa was cancelled, followed by deportation.
To avoid any risk at the border, we advise following the “first-entry rule” — start your trip in the issuing country, then travel freely within the rest of the Schengen Area.
